Hello friend!
It’s been a long while. Do you remember me? My middle name has changed (or rather, has reverted to my true name). Anyway, I’m James, and we go way back! It was actually my 38th birthday 🎂 yesterday, and I am celebrating by launching my new SubStack artist site!
If you don’t recognise me right away, check again and picture me with a beard. You knew me as James Fox Higgins, and you signed up to my mailing list at some point, either to receive updates about my original funky/soulful music, because you’re a reader of my philosophical science fiction series The Ghosts of Men, or you used to watch The James Fox Higgins Show on YouTube where we talked philosophy, politics (yuck!), faith, and culture.
Why this email?
I invite you to join me today at my new SubStack, where (for the first time in a lifetime) you will be able to find EVERYTHING I do as a creative in one place. No more brand separation or split identities. The “Fox” is gone - I’m back to just using my true given name wherever I go with my art! So James Alexander Higgins, that is, I have stories to tell, songs to sing, poems to share and analyse, concepts to unravel, books to publish, and albums to record!
I’ve also been learning a lot about life, both through years of intentional self-guided study of philosophy, religion, history, and futurism, and through the school of hard knocks. I’m a neurodivergent father of two sons, with lots of experiences (good and bad) to share. This new website is a place where, far from the madding crowd of social media sites, I present my whole artistic self to you, and allow you to curate your experience to your taste.
